Gemius Russia has released a report [in Russian] on top 20 most popular Russian websites in March 2015. According to the report, the most popular sites in Russia at the moment are Yandex, Mail.Ru and Vkontakte (no surprises there!).
According to the results of the monthly survey conducted by Gemius, search engine and portal Yandex led the list of the most popular Internet properties. The second place is held by Mail.Ru – also a portal, search engine and a free email service, the third place is occupied by Russia’s largest social network Vkontakte. Google and YouTube are located on the 4th and 5th positions in the rating. The positions in the rating basically remained unchanged comparing to the previous year.
Except owned by Mail.ru Group Vkontakte, there are two other social networks in Russia’s Top 10: Odnoklassniki, or OK after the recent rebranding (also owned by Mail.ru Group) ended up on the 6th place and was said to cover 56% of Russia’s Internet audience. Facebook is located on the 9th position with a 33% audience coverage.
The list of top 20 Russian sites also included two e-commerce properties – classifieds Avito.ru (8th place in the rating) and Aliexpress.com (12th place) and two entertainment websites – movie review site Kinopoisk.ru (14th position) and online cinema Kinogo.net (19th position).
