Digital advertising in Russia keeps growing at astonishing pace for the 3rd year in a row. The Association of Communication Agencies in Russia (ACAR) reported [in Russian] that expenditures on online advertising increased by 30% in the first half of 2013. Contextual advertising (SEM) showed the highest growth figures – 37% comparing to the same period of 2012.
Advertising spend on TV, radio and outdoor advertising expenditures also increased, but to a smaller extent. The only medium that has decreased in volume is traditional paper-based press.
The volume of online advertising market in Russia is valued at 31.2 billion Russian rubles (approx. 948 million USD / 709 million Euro), reports ACAR, which is more than any other type of advertising apart from TV.
