Yandex and Google work very differently when it comes to updates of organic search results. While Google constantly makes small changes, Yandex rolls out bi-weekly or so updates, which are clearly visible by the degree of changes in the SERPs.
Some time ago I recommended a tool – Update Analyzer – which is very useful and feature-rich, but not very user-friendly. Some days ago I stumbled on a very nice in my opinion alternative – a tool created by a Russian company called Topvisor – that illustrates Yandex (and other search engines) SERP updates and also gives a breakdown for different verticals, such as web development and SEO, auto, legal services, consumer electronics, real estate, insurance, travel, clothing and a few more.
The tool is only available in Russian, but can be easily turned into English with translation function in Chrome.
Another nice feature that Topvisor’s tool delivers is a calendar of Yandex SERP updates. This can be really handy when trying to figure out historical fluctuations of organic Yandex traffic.
The calendar only goes back to August 2014, but with the time, when a lot of data is collected, it will be extremely useful for all Russian and other Yandex-interested SEOs.
Overall the tool is simple and does the job. It is definitely a good fresh addition to my Yandex SEO toolkit.
